Community Center Flooring Replacement

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:
The City of Waukee sought proposals for the replacement of flooring at the
Community Center at 675 Walnut Street. The contractor selected for this
service is Poindexter Flooring.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
The base cost for this service is $10,230 and the alternate cost to replace the
restroom flooring is $3147 for a total of $13,377. The FY25 budget for this
work is $12,000. Administration recommends the approval of alternate #1 as
there is budget available to support the additional work and the flooring in the
restrooms is delaminating and failing. Poindexter Flooring is lowest
responsible bidder for this work.

FLOORING REPLACEMENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the Waukee
Community Center Flooring Replacement Project and described in the Request for Quotes that
was provided to vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote
received for such work, as follows:
Contractor: Poindexter Flooring, Inc., of Indianola, IA
Amount of quote: $13,377.00
PASSED AND APPROVED this 1st day of July, 2024.
