SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Iowa Signal, Inc. requested Payment Estimate No. 1
for the work completed on the Traffic Signal Enhancements, Waukee School & Trail Crossing
Improvements project in the amount of $2,696.60. Snyder & Associates has reviewed the
payment estimate and recommends payment.
The partial payment is for the pay period April 17, 2024 to June 30, 2023. This pay estimate is
for mobilization

Dear Mr. Koester:
Partial payment application #1 is for 10% of the mobilization for the project. Per Iowa DOT’s
standard specification 2533.05, partial payment for 10% of mobilization or 1% of the overall
project cost (whichever is less) should be paid to the contractor after the signed contract is received.
For this project, 10% of mobilization ($2,780) is less than 1% of the overall project ($917,492).
Attached is partial payment application #1 for the project. The project will utilize 3% retainage,
per the Iowa DOT’s maximum. We recommend the payment of $2696.60 to the contractor, Iowa
Signal, Inc. This represents about 0.3% of the total project cost, less withheld retainage.
