AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the mayor’s
appointment of citizen members to the Library Board of Trustees for
three-year terms to end June 30, 2027; and an unexpired term to end June
30, 2026
FORMAT:Mayor’s Appointment and Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The terms for Miranda Djukic and Connie
Thienes will expire on June 30, 2024. Also, Anna Phelps is unable to
fulfill her term scheduled to expire June 30, 2026.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Mayor Clarke will announce her appointments.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 2024-
APPROVING THE MAYOR’S APPOINTMENT OF CITIZEN MEMBERS TO
THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THREE-YEAR TERMS TO END
JUNE 30, 2027; AND AN UNEXPIRED TERM TO END JUNE 30, 2026
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, each year the mayor must appoint or reappoint citizen members to those boards
which have appointments scheduled to expire or unexpired terms; AND,
WHEREAS, Mayor Courtney Clarke has made the following appointments to the Library Board
of Trustees:
_______________ appointment 3-year term ending 06/30/2027
_______________ appointment 3-year term ending 06/30/2027; AND,
WHEREAS, Library Board of Trustees Member Anna Phelps is unable to fulfill the remainder
of her term, scheduled to expire June 30, 2026, due to an impending move from Waukee; AND,
WHEREAS, Mayor Courtney Clarke appoints _____________ to fill the unexpired Library
Board of Trustees term of Anna Phelps.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
1st day of July, 2024, that the mayor’s appointments to the Library Board of Trustees are hereby
approved.
