AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a motion approving Fireworks Display
Permit for October 19, 2024 [Waukee Marching Band Invitational]
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Band Parents have applied for a brief
fireworks display during the 10/19/2024 Waukee Marching Band
Invitational. The display is run by J&M Displays and is similar to
displays approved by the City Council in the past for the same event.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$10.00 permit fee
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The applicant has provided the necessary Certificate of
Liability Insurance. Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments have
reviewed the application and find no reason to deny the permit at this
time.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the fireworks display permit.
