AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution amending certain addresses within
the City of Waukee (Llewellyn Property).
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Llewellyn Property is located north of 300th Street
(University Ave) and approximately 2 miles west of 6th Street. There were
previously two homes located on the property. One of the homes has been
demolished and a new home being built in its place. Prior to being annexed
into the city in 2017, the property was assigned Adel addresses and zip codes.
The property owners have requested to have their addresses changed from
Adel addresses to Waukee addresses. At their meeting on August 13th, the
Adel City Council passed a resolution granting the request.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The requested change in address still fits within the confines
of the addressing grid and staff does not have any concerns with the proposed
change. Upon approval of the City Council, the address change would be
recorded with the County and all records including E911 databases would be
updated with the new addresses.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2024-
APPROVAL OF AMENDING CERTAIN ADDRESSES FOR THE LLEWELLYN
PROPERTY FROM AN ADEL ADDRESS TO A WAUKEE ADDRESS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF ADEL, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the properties listed below were assigned addresses with a City of Adel zip
code prior to being annexed into an incorporated city; AND,
WHEREAS, the properties listed below were annexed into the City of Waukee on June 5,
2017, as authorized by City of Waukee Resolution # 17-255; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Adel consented to the address and zip code change as authorized
by City of Adel Resolution # 24-47; AND,
WHEREAS, staff recommends changing the following local addresses as follows:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa in session this 3rd day of September 2024, that the local addresses as referenced above
are amended. A copy of this resolution shall be filed on record with the Recorders Office
of Dallas County, Iowa.
