The model of the aluminum doors listed as basis of design was the Clopay 902/903. This  model no longer exists because Clopay has updated their products/model numbers. The  902/903 contained no insulation inside the rails. Spec 2.02, C, 2. Calls for an R value 3.8.  We  have submitted model 904U to meet this requirement, to date the only Clopay aluminum glass  door model with insulation that will meet this requirement. Is this acceptable?    The side mount motor operators on this project were noted to be operable under power  failure. The newest model Liftmaster side mount motors include battery backup to operate the  door for limited time when power fails. However, they do not include a disconnect or hand  chain for manual operation if power fails and batteries die OR before the batteries gain a full  charge when hooked to permanent power. We could upgrade to a model with an auxiliary hand  chain if desired. Please advise.   The sectional doors are specified with locks/interlocks. Locks/interlocks are not applicable to these doors for the following reasons. All of these doors are much too heavy to lift. Emergency bays like these should never be locked as valuable time is wasting locking/unlocking doors.  Eventually, damage WILL result to the locks or to the doors or both when these are included. These items are an additional maintenance item and will only cause future issues for the owner. Please confirm it will be acceptable to omit the locks.   Attachments RFI - Sectional Doors.pdf   Official Response Response from Alex Streyffeler OPN Inc on Monday, Aug 5, 2024 at 12:23 PM CDT  Upgrade the (8) remotes provided with the four-fold doors to 3-button remotes. Program the remotes to open the four-fold door and the corresponding sectional door on the opposite side of the Apparatus Bay.    Provide (2) additional remotes that can each control doors OH-12 and OH-11.    Official Response Response from Ryan Pigneri Ryan Companies US Inc on Friday, Jul 19, 2024 at 06:45 AM CDT  OPN to confirm style and quantity of radio remotes.    Official Response Response from Alex Streyffeler OPN Inc on Wednesday, Jul 10, 2024 at 02:56 PM CDT  See attached responses.   Attachments RFI 037 - OPN Response.pdf RFI #37 - Sectional Doors Project: 006173000 Waukee Public Safety Facility     Ryan Companies Page 2 of 2 Printed On: Aug 26, 2024 10:02 AM CDT    CONTACT 515.264.8420 skoldcompanies.com 5730 NE 17th St Des Moines, IA 50313 August 26, 2024 Ryan Companies RE: Waukee Public Safety 111 E Grand Ave, Suite 200 Waukee, IA Des Moines, IA 50309 SDC Job #234428 Change order Request: Changes from RFI 37 DESCRIPTION MATERIAL COST UNIT RATE COST Delete motor and add hand chain door OH-09 -$1,160.00 $0.00 50k cycles on OH-5,6,7,8,11,12 $2,040.00 Upgrade remotes and add two $466.00 $0.00 $0.00 Subtotals $1,346.00 $0.00 Total $1,346.00 Total Change Order Request: $1,346 If you have any questions, please feel free to call the undersigned.
