SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Busy Bee Construction requested Payment Estimate
No. 1 for the work completed on the Transite Water Main Replacement – Phase 4 Project, in the
amount of $165,293.01. Veenstra & Kimm has reviewed the payment estimate and recommends
payment.
The partial payment is for the pay period July 30, 2024 to August 30, 2024. This pay estimate is
for water main and appurtenances installed

TRANSITE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT – PHASE 4
CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 AND PAY ESTIMATE NO. 1
Enclosed are three copies of Change Order No. 1 for the above-mentioned project under the
contract between the City of Waukee and Busy Bee Construction LLC. Change Order No. 1 is for
additional gate valves and fittings. Change Order No. 1 increases the contract price by a total of
$6,206.00. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. recommends approval of Change Order No. 1.
Also enclosed are three copies of Partial Payment Estimate No. 1 for the period between July 30,
2024 and August 30, 2024 for the above-mentioned project. Partial Pay Estimate No. 1 is for
water main and appurtenances installed. We have checked the estimate and recommend
payment to Busy Bee Construction LLC in the total amount of $165,293.01.
Please sign Change Order No. 1 and Partial Payment Estimate No. 1 in the spaces provided.
Return one signed copy of each to our office and one signed copy of each to Busy Bee
Construction LLC with payment. The remaining copy is for the City of Waukee’s records.
