AGENDA ITEM: Public Hearing concerning the disposal of an easement interest pursuant to
Iowa Code Section 364.7 (2024) [Elm Street Property]
FORMAT: Public Hearing
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: City staff has been approached by the owner of the
commercial building located at 750 W. Hickman Road regarding a parking lot
expansion. The proposed parking lot expansion would encroach onto property
owned by the City of Waukee south of existing building. The building owner
is requesting an easement from the City to allow for the proposed parking
expansion to be partially located on property owned by the City of Waukee.
It is staff’s recommendation that the small easement area requested
(approximately 3,800 square feet) should be considered for disposal.
