AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of receipt and file of the purchase of a 2024
Ram ProMaster van, included in the FY25 approved budget and via State
contract pricing, in the amount of $50,220.00. [Waukee Police
Department].
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Police Department planned for the
purchase of an evidence / crime scene van in the FY25 budget. The
vehicle has been received by the dealer and is in the process of being
upfitted for our use. The cost of the vehicle itself, without upfitting or
equipment, is $50,220.00.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
The evidence / crime scene van was included in the FY25 budget, and the vehicle will expand the
capabilities of the police department as it relates to on-scene operations during significant
investigations. Currently, the police department has no capabilities for on-scene collaboration,
meetings, storage, etc. and this van will give us functionality for these uses as well as ensure
secure evidence collection and storage in line with best practices for the industry.
