AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a Resolution awarding quote [2024 Downtown
Signage Fabrication and Installation Project]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: In 2023, the City of Waukee completed a signage study
related to the downtown triangle district which included designs for a family
of complementary signage within the triangle for both district identification
and wayfinding.
The plan included four entrance markers to help better identify the downtown
triangle district. Staff received quotes for the four entrance markers with two
being located along Ashworth Road and two being located along 6th Street.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $69,388.00. The engineers
estimate for the project was $60,000.
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Four quotes were received for the project ranging from
$69,388 to $128,700. Staff is recommending approval of awarding the quote
to Latitude Signage and Design out of Grinnell Iowa.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

INSTALLATION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the 2024
Downtown Signage Fabrication and Installation Project and described in the Request for Quotes
that was provided to vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible
quote received for such work, as follows:
Contractor: Latitude Signage + Design located within Grinnell, Iowa
Amount of quote: $69,388.60
PASSED AND APPROVED this 18th day of November, 2024.
