AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution accepting a quote for the
purchase of playground equipment, surfacing, shade structures and
restroom [Painted Woods West Park]
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The attached proposal is the authorization to order
the playground equipment, surfacing, restroom building, and shade
structures for Painted Woods West Park. The purchase of this
equipment, surfacing, restroom and shade structures will be through the
Equalis Group Purchasing Program which is an intergovernmental
cooperative purchasing program in which the City of Waukee is a
member. All bidding laws have been met by the group and prices were
established for the 2024-2025 calendar years. The lead time on this
equipment is approximately 10-12 weeks and will be ready for
installation early summer 2025. The Equalis Group Discount is
$36,645.30 off the Retail Price of the play equipment, surfacing,
restroom facility, shade structures and installation. The total price of
these components is $927,436.61. 50% of Payment will be at time of
order and the remainder of the payment will be once materials have been
installed.

RESOLUTION 2025-
ACCEPTING QUOTE FOR THE PURCHASE OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT,
SURFACING, SHADE STRUCTURES AND RESTROOM
[PAINTED WOODS WEST PARK]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, the City has solicited construction bids for certain public improvements described
in general as Painted Woods West Park Project; AND,
WHEREAS, as a separate purchase for the Painted Woods West Park Project, City staff
recommend accepting a quote through the Equalis Group Purchasing Program in the amount of
$927,436.61 for playground equipment, surfacing, restroom building, shade structures and
installation; AND,
WHEREAS, the Equalis Group Purchasing Program is an intergovernmental cooperative
purchasing program of which the City of Waukee is a member;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of January, 2025, that the quote from the Equalis Group Purchasing Program for Painted
Woods West Park playground equipment, surfacing, shade structures and restroom facilities is
hereby approved.
