SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project bid letting was held at Waukee City Hall
on December 17th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Five (5) bids were received with
the low base bid from Elder Corporation in the amount of $666,470.52.
Staff is recommending approval of the base bid in the amount of
$666,470.52. The engineers estimate for this project is $934,071.25.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$666,470.52

RESOLUTION 2025-
RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT FOR THE SPRING CREST PARK
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, STATE
OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the following bid for the construction of certain public improvements
described in general as the Spring Crest Park, described in the plans and specifications heretofore
adopted by this Council on January 20, 2025, be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest
responsive, responsible bid received for such work, as follows:
Contractor:Elder Corporation of Des Moines, IA
Amount of bid:$666,470.52
Portion of project:All construction work
Section 2.That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the contract with the
contractor for the construction of the public improvements, such contract not to be binding on the
City until approved by this Council.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 20th day of January, 2025.

Mr. Jermier,
A Public Bid Opening was held on December 17 for Spring Crest
Park. A total of five compliant bids were received. Bids ranged from
$666,470.52 to $868,460.38, compared to the bid document cost
opinion of $934,071.25.
Genus has reviewed all bid proposals and prepared the attached
bid tabulation. It is our recommendation that the City of Waukee
accept Elder Corporation’s base bid in the amount of $666,470.52
and execute a contract for the project work. Brent Thompson of
Elder Corporation has reviewed and approved the bid tabulation
numbers in writing.
We look forward to working with the City to see this project through
construction!
