MEETING DATE: January 20, 2025
AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
February 18, 2025, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to
amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by
rezoning certain property from R-2 [One & Two Family Residential
District] to R-2 [One & Two Family Residential District] /PD-1 [Planned
Development Overlay]; and from R-2 [One & Two Family Residential
District] /PD-1 [Planned Development Overlay District] to R-2 [One &
Two Family Residential District] (Remington Pointe)
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 15.3-acres of property. The property is generally located
south of University Avenue and west of 17th Street.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for February 18, 2025, to discuss this
matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not
indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s
willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
