STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT McClure Engineering Co. has reviewed the public
improvements for the 2021 Asphalt Overlay Improvements and finds it in general conformance with
project plans and specifications.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2025-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WAUKEE STREET
RESURFACING: ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM 2ND TO 4TH
STREET/WACO PLACE FROM ASHWORTH ROAD TO
WILSON STREET
WHEREAS, on the 7th day of September, 2021, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of
Waukee, Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Grimes Asphalt & Paving Corp. of Des
Moines, IA, for the construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Waukee
Street Resurfacing: Ashworth Drive from 2nd to 4th Street/Waco Place from Ashworth Road to
Wilson Street; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on January 15, 2025:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $458,553.72, as shown in the report of the Engineer.
