SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON:
The City of Waukee sought proposals for the installation of a new fire alarm
system at the Waukee Public Library. Five proposals were submitted for
consideration. The most responsive contractor for the most advantageous price
was Van Maanen Electric.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
The cost for the demolition of the existing system and installation of the new
within the Waukee Public Library is $25,827. KCL Engineers performed the
system design for this project.

IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the Waukee
Public Library Fire Alarm System Replacement Project and described in the Request for Quotes
that was provided to vendors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible
quote received for such work, as follows:
Contractor: Van Maanen Electric of Newton, Iowa
Amount of quote: $25,827.00
PASSED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of February, 2025.
