[2024/2025 ADA Sidewalk Improvements Project]. FORMAT:Resolution SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At staff’s request, four additional locations were added to the project scope to maximize program funding and improve project interest and improve the competitive bidding scope of the project. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has performed these additional services beyond the original project scope and is requesting additional compensation to cover these expenses. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: Amendment increases the original agreement amount by $18,000.00 to a total not to exceed amount of $48,000.00. [2024/2025 ADA SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT] IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, on August 5, 2024, the City retained the services of Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. for the 2024/2025 ADA Sidewalk Improvements Project, (RES 2024-324); AND, WHEREAS, the scope of services includes replacement of sidewalks and pedestrian ramps that are not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibilities Guidelines and the Proposed Accessibility Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way and construction of new pedestrian ramps; AND, WHEREAS, the amendment adds the following locations to the project scope: intersection of SE Traden Drive and SE Legacy Pointe Boulevard, the intersection of Ashworth Drive and 4th Street, the east side of 4th Street north of Ashworth Drive to Heart of Warrior Trail, and unnamed trail between 4th Street and 3rd Street, north of Heart of Warrior Trail; AND, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the Amendment to Agreement for Professional Consulting Services between Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. and the City of Waukee, Iowa [2024/2025 ADA Sidewalk Improvements Project] is hereby approved. Hickman Road Waukee, Iowa 50263 CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA 2024/2025 ADA SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES This letter is to present Veenstra & Kimm, Inc.'s amended proposal to provide engineering services for the 2024/2025 ADA Sidewalk Improvements project. The scope of the original agreement consisted of the following: Replacement of sidewalks and pedestrian ramps that are not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibilities Guidelines (ADAAG) and the Proposed Accessibility Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way (PROWAG) and construction of new pedestrian ramps. The locations of work are at the entrance to Fox Creek Park at NE Bowman Drive, the intersection of NE Bowman Drive and NE Dartmoor Drive, the intersection of SE LA Grant Parkway and SE Pleasant View Drive, and a midblock crossing of SE Westown Parkway between S Warrior Lane and SE LA Grant Parkway. This amendment presents the following additional scope: · Replacement of sidewalks and pedestrian ramps that are not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibilities Guidelines (ADAAG) and the Proposed Accessibility Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way (PROWAG) at the intersection of SE Traden Drive and SE Legacy Pointe Boulevard, the intersection of Ashworth Drive and 4th Street, the east side of 4th Street north of Ashworth Drive, and between 3rd Street and 4th Street north of Ashworth Drive. · Grading and drainage improvements between 3rd Street and 4th Street north of Ashworth Drive. This amendment proposes the following fees: Additional Design: $18,000.00 The amended contract fee is $48,000.00.
