AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of 12-month Class C Retail Alcohol License
with Outdoor Service privilege for City of Waukee, d/b/a Sugar Creek
Municipal Golf Course [1505 6th Street], pending proof of dram
insurance
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Parks & Recreation Department intends to apply
for a new Class C Retail Alcohol License for Sugar Creek Municipal
Golf Course to allow for the sale of liquor-based mixed drinks in
addition to the canned alcoholic beverages currently offered. In order to
ensure there is no lapse in licensing, the City is applying to renew the
current Special Class C Retail Alcohol License, while at the same time
applying for a new Class C Retail Alcohol License. Following approval
of the new license by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division, the
renewed license will be cancelled, and the City will apply for a refund
for the unused months on the renewed license.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Police, Fire and Community Development Departments
have reviewed the application and find no reason to deny the permit at
this time, pending proof of dram insurance.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the application, pending proof of dram insurance.
