This change order will make it so there is both a signal head on the mast arm over the right turn lane and a side of pole signal head for all EB and WB signals on US 6. Additionally, it revises the project completion date to April 30, 2025 due to the time needed order and install the heads for the change order as well as additional shipping delays for the cabinets needed to complete the work in the original bid. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The net result of this Change Order increases the contract price by the amount of $12,848.50. Currently, signal heads at several intersections are only located on either the mast arm or the side of pole, resulting in an inconsistent experience for drivers on the corridor. Providing heads on both the mast arm and side of pole can be especially beneficial for EB and WB traffic during dawn and dusk when glare may affect drivers' ability to see the traffic signal heads. The contract completion date needs to be extended for two reasons. First, the signal heads required for this work have an expected delivery date of approximate 30 to 45 days after ordering. The City provided email approval for the work 10/23/24. Depending on weather, the contractor may not be able to install the new traffic signal heads before the original completion date. Second, the delivery of the signal cabinets for the work in the original bid has been delayed to November 15 for the supplier, likely resulting in an early December delivery to the contractor.
