AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Chapter 27, Sugar Creek
Municipal Golf Course, by amending Section 27.05, Concession Area, to
revise concessions offered and restrict certain outside activities [introduction;

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The amendment to the ordinance defines the type of
concessions offered and restricts certain outside activities. 27.05 will have the
following definition: The golf course offers snack items, non-alcoholic
beverages and alcoholic beverages. Golfers are not allowed to bring outside
alcohol onto the course premises, including the parking lot. Outside vending
is not allowed.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 27, SUGAR CREEK MUNICIPAL GOLF
COURSE, BY AMENDING SECTION 27.05, CONCESSION AREA, TO REVISE
CONCESSIONS OFFERED AND RESTRICT CERTAIN OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has established rules and regulations to facilitate the
enjoyment of Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course by the general public using that facility; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee Parks & Recreation Department has determined that it is
necessary to amend Section 27.05, Concession Area, to revise the types of concessions offered and
to restrict certain specific outside activities;
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1. Chapter 27, Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course, Section 27.05, Concession
Area, is hereby amended as follows:
27.05 CONCESSION AREA.
The golf course offers snack items, non-alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages.
Golfers are not allowed to bring outside alcohol onto the course premises, including the
parking lot. Outside vending is not allowed.
Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section, provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
