AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Amendment No. 2 to
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with Genus Landscape
Architects [Painted Woods + Spring Crest Neighborhood Parks Projects]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The consultant team is requesting additional services for
the following, which is outside of the current professional services agreement:
Spring Crest: easement scope for temporary access. The temporary access
easement will be across the neighboring property, northwest of the site, as
prepared by Foth Engineering. $1,250
Painted Woods West: easement scope for electrical service. This scope item
is for an electrical service easement, as prepared by Foth Engineering and
required by MidAmerican Energy. $3,250
Painted Woods West: revisions to sport court scope of work. This scope is
for the design, bid coordination and construction phase services associated
with the addition of two pickleball courts and size reduction to the basketball
court. $15,000
Total: $19,500

RESOLUTION 2025-
APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL
CONSULTING SERVICES WITH GENUS LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS [PAINTED
WOODS + SPRING CREST NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS PROJECTS]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, on January 15, 2024, the Waukee City Council approved a Professional Consulting
Services with Genus Landscape Architects [Painted Woods + Spring Crest Neighborhood Parks
Projects, Concept Development] (Resolution #2024-029); AND,
WHEREAS, on June 17, 2024, the Waukee City Council approved Amendment No.1 to address
design development, construction documents, bid phase and construction phase services for both
parks [Painted Woods + Spring Crest Neighborhood Parks Projects] (Resolution #2024-248);
AND,
WHEREAS, the City and Consultant agree to amend the original agreement to address
development of easements necessary for construction and bid coordination and construction of
an additional two pickleball courts;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that
Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with Genus Landscape
Architects [Painted Woods + Spring Crest Neighborhood Parks Projects] is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 3rd day of March,
2025.

PAINTED WOODS WEST PARK + SPRING CREST PARK
Dear Matt:
The consultant team is respectfully requesting additional services for
the following, which is outside of the current base services
agreement.
Spring Crest: easement scope for temporary access: $1,250
