SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This project includes all materials, equipment,
transportation and labor necessary to construct the West Area Trunk Sewer Extension Phase 3 for
approximately 3,300 linear feet of 8-inch through 24-inch diameter sanitary sewer in open cut and
augured in steel casing, manholes, excavation and backfill, surface restoration and miscellaneous
associated work, including cleanup. The West Area Trunk Sewer Extension Phase 3 project is
located west and east of T Avenue and south of 310th Street.
The project has a total project cost estimate of $2,400,000, of which $400,000 is budgeted in the
approved FY 2025-2029 CIP and $2,000,000 is budgeted in the draft FY 2026-2030 CIP.
The interim completion date with the sanitary sewer fully installed, tested and operational is
November 28, 2025 subject to any extensions of time which may be granted by the City. All work
on the project shall be completed by May 31, 2026.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT
AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE WEST AREA TRUNK SEWER EXTENSION –
PHASE 3 FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 P.M. on March 17, 2025. At said hearing, any
interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
The work to be done is as follows:

Construct West Area Trunk Sewer Extension – Phase 3 including all labor, materials and
equipment necessary for approximately 3,300 linear feet of 8-inch through 24-inch
diameter sanitary sewer in open cut and augured in steel casing, manholes, excavation and
backfill, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup.
The West Area Trunk Sewer Extension – Phase 3 project is located west and east of T Avenue
and south of 310th Street.
In accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City
Council will be conducted with two different options for public participation: 1) Members of the
public wishing to attend in person may do so in the Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2)
