RESOLUTION 2025-114
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PUBLIC
STREETS ON SATURDAY, JULY 19, 2025, FROM 7:30 A.M. TO 12:00 P.M. FOR THE
RIPROAR WAUKEE YOUTH TRIATHLON EVENT (AMENDED)
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, RipRoar Events will host a youth triathlon event in Waukee on Saturday, July 19,
2025, and requests the temporary closing of certain public streets beginning 7:30 a.m. and ending
12:00 p.m. on the date of the event; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution; AND,
WHEREAS, on February 18, 2025, the Waukee City Council approved the temporary closing of
certain portions of public streets for the RipRoar Waukee Youth Triathlon Event (Resolution
#2025-083); AND,
WHEREAS, RipRoar Events requests an amendment to the approved public street closures to
allow the optional closure of a portion of T Avenue/NW 201h Street during the event;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3rd day of March, 2025, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of NW Douglas Parkway
from NW Stratford Drive west to T Avenue/NW 20t' Street; NW Georgetown Drive from NW
Douglas Parkway north 950 feet; and an optional temporary closing of T Avenue/NW 20th Street
from NW Douglas Parkway south 650 feet, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m. on
Saturday, July 19, 2025.
