closing of certain portions of public streets on Sunday, September 14,
2025, for the Kee Kar Show event

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The owner of The ‘Kee requests temporary
street closings to accommodate a car show in the Downtown Triangle
District.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Iowa Code §364.12(2)(a) states that public ways and
grounds may be temporarily closed by resolution.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 2025-
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PUBLIC
STREETS ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2025, FOR THE KEE KAR SHOW EVENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County; AND,
WHEREAS, Megan Pinkerton of The ‘Kee will host a car show event in and around Triangle Park on
Sunday, September 14, 2025, and requests the temporary closing of certain public streets beginning
6:00 a.m. and ending 5:00 p.m. on the date of the event; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 5th day
of May, 2025, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of Walnut Street from 5th Street west to 7th
Street, 6th Street from Ashworth Drive south to Locust Street, the public alley between 6th Street and
7th Street from Ashworth Drive south to Locust Street, the public alley between 5th Street and 6th Street
from Walnut Street south to Locust Street, and the public alley between Ashworth Drive and Walnut
Street from 7th Street east to its terminus, beginning 6:00 a.m. and ending 5:00 p.m. on Sunday,
September 14, 2025, for the purpose of the Kee Kar Show event.
