RESOLUTION 2025-170
APPROVING THE PROPOSED FY2026 BUDGET
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee is a duly incorporated City within the County of Dallas and the
State of Iowa; AND,
WHEREAS, the State of Iowa has set April 30, 2025, as the date cities must submit an FY2026
certified budget to their respective county auditors; AND,
WHEREAS, all City departments have worked hard to create the FY2026 budget in accordance
with the City Council goals and priorities, to reduce the current tax levy by $0.15/per $1,000 to
$12.80/per $1,000 for the Waukee citizens; AND,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held April 7, 2025, during a special meeting to seek and to
receive citizen input concerning the proposed FY2026 Property Tax Levy; AND,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held April 21, 2025, during the regularly scheduled council
meeting to seek and to receive citizen input concerning the proposed FY2026 budget; AND,
WHEREAS, the city council, after reviewing the proposed FY2026 budget and after receiving
citizen input on the same finds the FY2026 budget fiscally responsible and responsive to the
needs of the city.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
21 sc day of April, 2025, that it hereby approves the proposed FY2026 Budget with a total City
Tax Levy of $12.80/per $1,000.
