HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-05-05 Resolution 2025-188_28E Agreement Amendment, Bravo Greater Des Moines IncTHE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA RESOLUTION 2025-188 AUTHORIZING THE AMENDMENT TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT, MADE PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE CHAPTER 28E, BETWEEN THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA AND BRAVO GREATER DES MOINES INC. FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CULTURAL COMMUNITY IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal Organization; AND, WHEREAS, Bravo Greater Des Moines, Inc., an Iowa not -for -profit corporation, is organized for the purpose of assisting the cultural community of the Greater Des Moines area; AND, WHEREAS, the City of Waukee values its partnerships with local organizations that provide essential services and contribute to the quality of life for its residents; AND, WHEREAS, the enactment of HF 718 by the Iowa State Legislature imposes limitations on the amount of property tax revenue that municipalities, including the City of Waukee, are permitted to collect; AND, WHEREAS, this aforementioned state law necessitates a comprehensive review and potential adjustment of the City's budget, expenditures, and financial commitments to ensure continued fiscal responsibility and the sustainable provision of City services; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary and in the best interest of the City of Waukee and its residents to adjust the percentage of designated hotel/motel tax revenue allocated to Bravo Greater Des Moines, Inc. to align with current fiscal conditions and modify the Agreement accordingly. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City & cil in session this 5t' day of May, 2025, that the proposed Amendment to the Intergovernmental/logE Agreement with Bravo Greater Des Moines, Inc. is hereby approved.
