AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a temporary use permit for Holmes Murphy
and Classic Events & Parties (2727 Grand Prairie Parkway)
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a temporary use permit request for
an employee event at the Holmes Murphy office building located at 2727
Grand Prairie Parkway. The permit includes temporary tents, live music,
food truck services, and yard games. The Fire Department will inspect
the temporary tents once they have been erected.
The proposed temporary use permit is requested for July 16 – July 18,
2025. The event is planned for July 17, 2025. The event is planned to
begin at 3:30 pm and end at 5:30 pm on July 17th.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff have reviewed the temporary use permit
application and are comfortable with the request.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff would recommend approval of the proposed resolution.

RESOLUTION 2025-
APPROVING TEMPORARY USE PERMIT REQUEST AT 2727 GRAND PRAIRIE
PARKWAY [HOLMES MURPHY AND CLASSIC EVENTS & PARTIES]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, Holmes Murphy and Classic Events & Parties have been granted permission
from Knapp Properties to hold an event on property located at 2727 Grand Prairie Parkway;
AND,
WHEREAS, Holmes Murphy and Classic Events & Parties are requesting approval of a
temporary use permit for an employee event from July 16, 2025 through July 18, 2025.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 14th day of July, 2025, that it hereby approves the temporary use permit for 2727 Grand
Prairie Parkway for July 16, 2025 – July 18, 2025.
