AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a temporary use permit for Lutheran
Church of Hope Waukee (305 NE Dartmoor Drive)
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a temporary use permit request for
a multi-day Vacation Bible School event at Lutheran Church of Hope
Waukee located at 305 NE Dartmoor Drive. The permit includes
temporary tents, live music, and food truck services. The Fire
Department will inspect the temporary tents once they have been erected.
Live music will be on site on July 27th from 10 am to 2 pm.
The proposed temporary use permit is requested for July 20 – July 29,
2025. Hours for the event will be from 8 am to 8 pm each day.

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: City staff have reviewed the temporary use permit
application and are comfortable with the request.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff would recommend approval of the proposed resolution.

RESOLUTION 2025-
APPROVING TEMPORARY USE PERMIT REQUEST AT 305 NE DARTMOOR
DRIVE [LUTHERAN CHURCH OF HOPE WAUKEE]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, Lutheran Church of Hope Waukee is requesting approval of a temporary use
permit for an event on property located at 305 NE Dartmoor Drive from July 20, 2025
through July 29, 2025.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 14th day of July, 2025, that it hereby approves the temporary use permit for 305 NE
Dartmoor Drive for July 20, 2025 – July 29, 2025.
