Patching Project]

SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This project is for certain public improvements
described in general as the 2025 Pavement Project Patching project. Improvements will take
place on NE Carefree Ln between E Hickman Rd and NE Venture Dr; SE Laurel St between S
Warrior Ln and SE Brick Dr; and SE Olson Dr between SE Boone Dr and SE Westwoods Dr.
Quotes were received on Thursday, July 17, 2025 with ten (10) quotes received. The Engineer’s
estimate for the project is $190,000. Howser Concrete Unlimited from Urbandale, Iowa was the
apparent low quote with a quote of $145,678.00 which is approximately 23% below the
Engineer’s estimate. This project funded with the annual Street Patching Budget Line Item which
has a total budget of $300,000 for FY 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: $145,678.00

AWARDING QUOTE FOR 2025 PAVEMENT PATCHING PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF WAUKEE, IOWA:
That the following quote for certain public improvements described in general as the 2025
Pavement Patching project and described in the Request for Quotes that was provided to
contractors be and is hereby accepted, the same being the lowest responsible quote received for
such work, as follows:
Contractor: Howser Concrete Unlimited of Urbandale, IA
Amount of Quote: $145,678.00
