SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This project includes all materials, labor and
equipment necessary for installation of approximately 16,500 CY of Grading, 84 LF of Steel
Casing Pipe, 400 CY of Structural Concrete, 61,000 LB of reinforcing steel, erosion control,
surface restoration, and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances. The NW 6th Street
Culvert Project is located where NW 6th Street crosses over Little Walnut Creek.
The project has a total project cost estimate of $1,410,251, of which $715,000 is budgeted in the
approved FY 2024-2028 CIP and the remaining $695,300 will utilize unobligated GO Bond funds
from the approved FY 2026-2030 CIP.
The project specifications lists a final project completion date of May 29, 2026.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NW 6TH STREET CULVERT
OVER LITTLE WALNUT CREEK
WAUKEE, IOWA
FOTH PROJECT NO. 22W003.01
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the
above referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025 at the
Council Chamber in City Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa 50263. At said
hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of
the improvements.
This project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the
construction of the NW 6th Street Culvert Over Little Walnut Creek in Waukee, generally
described as follows:
Construct the NW 6th Street Culvert including all materials, labor and equipment
necessary for installation of approximately: 16,500 CY of Grading, 84 LF of Steel
Casing Pipe, 400 CY of Structural Concrete, 61,000 LB of reinforcing steel,
erosion control, surface restoration, and miscellaneous related work and
appurtenances.
In accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee
City Council will be conducted with two different options for public participation: 1)

In-person meetings are subject to change under certain circumstances, including but
