SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This project is approximately 1,500 feet south of
University Avenue. The construction consists of approximately 60 square yards (SY) of pavement
removal, 280 SY of 8” P.C.C., 590 SY of modified subbase, 240 SY of trail pavement, 150 LF of
18-inch storm sewer, drainage structures, miscellaneous grading, site restoration, survey, traffic
control, pavement markings and other associated work. The Waco Place Project is approximately
1,500 feet south of University Avenue.
The project has a total project cost estimate of $315,178, of which $400,000 is budgeted in the
approved FY 2026-2030 CIP.
The project specifications lists an interim project completion date of November 7, 2025 for the
paving, May 1, 2026 for the seeding and May 15, 2026 for the plantings to be completed.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
WACO PLACE WIDENING
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 p.m. on August 4, 2025, at the Council Chamber in City
Hall, 230 West Hickman Road, Waukee, Iowa 50263. At said hearing, any interested person
may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
This project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of
the WACO PLACE WIDENING, generally described as follows:
The project is to widen the pavement of Waco Place approximately 1,500 feet
south of University Avenue. The construction consists of approximately 60 square
yards (SY) of pavement removal, 280 SY of 8” P.C.C., 590 SY of modified subbase,
240 SY of trail pavement, 150 LF of 18-inch storm sewer, drainage structures,
miscellaneous grading, site restoration, survey, traffic control, pavement markings
and other associated work.
In accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City
Council will be conducted with two different options for public participation: 1) Members of the
public wishing to attend in person may do so in the Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2)
