AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the temporary
closing of certain portions of public streets on Friday, October 3, 2025,
through Monday, October 6, 2025, for the Waukee Area Historical
Society Wauktoberfest event
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Waukee Area Historical Society requests
temporary street closings to accommodate the annual Wauktoberfest
event in the Downtown Triangle District.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:

STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Iowa Code §364.12(2)(a) states that public ways and
grounds may be temporarily closed by resolution.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2025-
APPROVING THE AMENDED TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
PUBLIC STREETS ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2025, THROUGH MONDAY, OCTOBER 6,
2025, FOR THE WAUKEE AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY WAUKTOBERFEST EVENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County; AND,
WHEREAS, the Waukee Area Historical Society request the temporary closing of certain portions of
public streets for their Wauktoberfest event; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 2nd day
of September, 2025, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of:
Walnut Street from 5th Street west to the west side of 6th Street beginning Friday, October 3,
2025, at 12:00 p.m. and ending Monday, October 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.
6th Street from Ashworth Drive south to the south side of Walnut Street beginning Saturday,
October 4, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. and ending Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 12:00 a.m.
