CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION

AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a motion setting October 20, 2025, as the
date of public hearing on a resolution authorizing the disposal of real
estate in accordance with Iowa Code Section 364.7 (2025)
FORMAT:Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: At a special election earlier this year, the residents of
Waukee voted to approve for the sale of the Waukee Municipal Gas
Utility. The City has reached an agreement with the Mid American
Energy for the sale of the utility which is scheduled to occur on October
22, 2025. As a part of the sale, certain interests in real estate currently
owned by the City are scheduled to be disposed of to MidAmerican
Energy. A public hearing is necessary to dispose of the City’s interests.
