AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a resolution amending a certain address for Lot 1
of Painted Woods Spectrum Plat 1 within the City of Waukee from 3215 6th
Street to 3215 Ute Avenue
FORMAT: Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: A scrivener’s error has been found for the address assigned
to Lot 1 in Painted Woods Spectrum Plat 1. The current address was
inadvertently assigned a 6th Street address when it should have been assigned
a Ute Avenue address. Changing the address for Lot 1 will correct this error.
The lot is currently undeveloped, however, the City Council recently approved
a site plan on Lot 1 for a Kwik Star convenience store.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: The requested change in address still fits within the confines
of the addressing grid and staff does not have any major concerns with the
proposed change. Upon approval of the City Council, the address change
would be recorded with the County and all records including E911 databases
would be updated with the new address.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2025-
APPROVAL OF AMENDING A CERTAIN ADDRESS FOR LOT 1 OF PAINTED
WOODS SPECTRUM PLAT 1
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee approved the final plat for Painted Woods Spectrum
Plat 1 on October 6, 2025, and recorded said final plat with the Dallas County Recorder;
AND,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there was a scriveners error related to Lot 1 of
Painted Woods Spectrum Plat 1; AND,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa in session this 17th day of November 2025, that the local address of 3215 6th Street
be amended to 3215 Ute Avenue. A copy of this resolution shall be filed on record with
the Recorders Office of Dallas County, Iowa.
