RESOLUTION 2020-115
APPROVING THE PROPOSED FY2021 BUDGET
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee is a duly incorporated City within the County of Dallas and the
State of Iowa; AND,
WHEREAS, the State of Iowa has set March 31, 2020, as the date cities must submit an FY2021
certified budget to their respective county auditors; however, due to public health concerns
related to the COVID-19 virus, limitations on public gatherings and the need for conducting
governmental meetings by electronic means, the State of Iowa has extended the certification
deadline to April 30, 2020; AND,
WHEREAS, all City departments have worked hard to create the FY2021 budget in accordance
with the City Council goals and priorities, and to reduce the tax levy by $0.10/per $1,000 to
$13.30/per $1,000 for the Waukee citizens; AND,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held April 6, 2020, during the regularly scheduled council
meeting to seek and to receive citizen input concerning the proposed FY2021 budget; AND,
WHEREAS, the city council, after reviewing the proposed FY2021 budget and after receiving
citizen input on the same finds the FY2021 budget fiscally responsible and responsive to the
needs of the city.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of April, 2020, that it hereby approves the proposed FY2021 Budget.
