RESOLUTION 2025-434
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
PUBLIC STREETS ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2025, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
WAUKEE WINTERFEST
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee will host Waukee WinterFest on Friday, December 5, 2025, in the
vicinity of Triangle Park and the Waukee Community Center; AND,
WHEREAS, City staff recommend the temporary closing of certain portions of public streets
beginning 12:00 p.m. and ending 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, for the purpose of Waukee
WinterFest; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 3rd day
of November, 2025, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of Walnut Street from 5th Street west
to 7th Street, 6th Street from Ashworth Drive south to Locust Street, the public alley between 6th Street
and 7th Street from Ashworth Drive south to Locust Street, the public alley between 5th Street and 6th
Street from Walnut Street south to Locust Street, and the public alley between Ashworth Drive and
Walnut Street from 7th Street east to its terminus, beginning 12:00 p.m. and ending 9:00 p.m. on
Friday, December 5, 2025, for the purpose of Waukee WinterFest.
