AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
January 19, 2026, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property from R-4 [Row Dwelling and Townhome Dwelling
District] / PD-1 [Planned Development Overlay] to R-4 [Row Dwelling
and Townhome Dwelling District] / PD-1 [Planned Development
Overlay] (Vintage Estates of Waukee)
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 7.90-acres of property. The property is generally located
west of SE Parkview Crossing Drive and north of SE Esker Ridge Drive.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for January 19, 2026, to discuss this
matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not
indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s
willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
