AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving crop damage claim
[Broderick Farm Co.]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This agreement between the City of Waukee and
Broderick Farm Co., for crop damages associated with the T Avenue Improvement Project. These
damages are for the farmable areas that were not able to be farmed during the 2025 growing season
due to unknown damaged drainage tiles that resulted in water ponding on their property. The tiles
have been repaired.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: Payment in the amount of
$6,184.80 to Broderick Farm Co.
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff recommends approval of the resolution and crop
damage claim form.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution

RESOLUTION 2026-
APPROVING CROP DAMAGE CLAIM
[BRODERICK FARM CO.]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, this is an agreement between the City of Waukee and Broderick Farm Co. for loss
of crop drowned out farmable areas on private property; AND,
WHEREAS, the damages are a direct result of the work performed as part of the T Avenue
Improvement Project; AND,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee the Crop
Damage Claim [Broderick Farm Co.] is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 5th day of January,
2026.
