FORMAT:Resolution SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The fire department is requesting approval to purchase a 2029 F-550 ambulance. This purchase is being conducted through the HGAC group purchasing consortium. The expected life of the chassis is approximately ten years. This unit is replacing a 2017 ambulance, in which the box was remounted from a 2008 chassis/ambulance (box will be 20 years old). There is a 28+ month lead time from the date of order. The ambulance will not be delivered before July 2028. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The purchase price for the ambulance is $343,344. The 2017 will be sold or traded upon delivery. The price includes a $5,000 contingency for engineering changes during the final design and $1,000 HGAC fee. There is an additional $210,000 in equipment to be purchased and installed separately including a power lift, cot, stair chair, cardiac monitor and consumable supplies, all outlined in the fire department CIP.
