RESOLUTION 2026-022
APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES WITH
RYAN COMPANIES US, INC. [EXISTING FIRE/POLICE BUILDING RENOVATION
PROJECT]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the original Waukee Public Safety Building ("Building") was constructed in 1999
and served as the headquarters for the Police and Fire Departments until the completion of the
new Public Safety Facility in July 2025; AND,
WHEREAS, the original Building continues to be used as a fire station and the City Council has
determined a need to remodel and renovate the Building to better accommodate the remaining
members of the Fire Department as well as to provide office space for other City departments;
AND,
WHEREAS, the project is anticipated to be complex and will require significant staff time to
administer and manage and the City believes that it is in the best interest to hire a Construction
Manager as Agent to assist in managing the design, construction and occupancy process; AND,
WHEREAS, after careful consideration, City staff would recommend Ryan Companies US, Inc.
to be hired as the Construction Manager as Agent for the renovation of the existing Building;
AND,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has reviewed the Agreement for Professional Consulting
Services and finds it satisfactory;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services with Ryan Companies US, LLC [Existing
Fire/Police Building Renovation Project] is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 5th day of January,
2026.
