SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The public sanitary sewer easement is necessary for the
City to take ownership of the 8” sanitary sewer main currently owned and maintained by the
Brookridge Townhomes Plat 1 Owners Association.

RESOLUTION 2026-
APPROVING SANITARY SEWER EASEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, IOWA AND BROOKRIDGE TOWNHOMES PLAT 1 OWNERS
ASSOCIATION [BROOKRIDGE TOWNHOMES PLAT 1]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County; AND,
WHEREAS, Brookridge Townhomes Plat 1 Owners Association contacted City staff
requesting the City take over ownership and maintenance of their 8” sanitary sewer main
easement associated with Brookridge Townhomes Plat 1; AND,
WHEREAS, the discussions have resulted in a Public Sanitary Sewer Easement that the
City Staff believes are in the best interest of the City to approve; AND
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, that the Public Sanitary Sewer Easement between the City of Waukee and
Brookridge Townhomes Plat 1 Owners Association [Brookridge Townhomes Plat 1] is
hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute any and all
documents to effectuate the approval and recording of the easements on behalf of the
City.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this 19th day
of January, 2026.
