HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-01-19 I01J_02 Rezoning, Timberline Estates_Set PH AGENDA ITEM: CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA CITY COUNCIL MEETING COMMUNICATION MEETING DATE: January 19, 2026 AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of February 17, 2026, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning certain property from A-1 [Agricultural District] to R-2 [One- and Two-Family Residential District] (Timberline Estates) FORMAT: Motion SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of approximately 90-acres of property. The property is generally located south of Westown Parkway and west of SE L.A Grant Parkway. FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT: STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council setting the public hearing date for February 17, 2026, to discuss this matter further. Council action to set the public hearing date does not indicate support for the project. Rather, it represents the Council’s willingness to allow the public hearing process to continue.
