FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: This is a farm lease for the City’s Civic Campus property
with a duration of one year starting on March 1, 2026 and terminating on March 1, 2027. The majority
of farmable acres on the Civic Campus property are not scheduled to be disturbed by any public
improvement projects in 2026. The rent shall be adjusted to actual acres harvested based on a GPS
survey performed by the Tenant and confirmed independently by the City.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: Total annual rent $26,026.00

RESOLUTION 2026-
APPROVING FARM LEASE – FIXED CASH RENT

IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized
Municipal Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the farm lease is for the City’s Civic Campus property with a duration of one
year starting on March 1, 2026; AND,
WHEREAS, the farm lease will terminate on March 1, 2027; AND,
WHEREAS, the majority of the farmable acres on the Civic Campus property are not
scheduled to be disturbed by any public improvement projects in 2026 and therefore City staff
have coordinated with the existing tenant farmer to continue farm operations through the 2026
growing season; AND,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the
Farm Lease – Fixed Cash Rent is hereby approved, and the Mayor and the City Clerk are
authorized to execute the Agreement for and on behalf of the City.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 2nd day of
March, 2026.
