SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The Little Walnut Creek Headwaters Wetland and
Greenway project is located north of NW MacArthur Lane and west of NW 10th Street. This project
includes all labor, materials and equipment necessary for approximately 45,000 CY of excavation
and soil spreading for the construction of forebays, wetland pool areas and earthen embankments,
a concrete weir outlet structure, storm sewer, erosion control, surface restoration and miscellaneous
associated work, including cleanup.
This project is included in the approved FY 2025-2026 Capital Improvements Plan with a total
project budget of $2,00,000.00. This project has a December 24, 2026 complete date.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT
AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE LITTLE WALNUT CREEK HEADWATERS
WETLAND AND GREENWAY FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
The City Council of Waukee, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans,
Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs for the construction of the above
referenced public improvements at 5:30 P.M. on March 16, 2026. At said hearing, any
interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of the improvements.
The work to be done is as follows:
LITTLE WALNUT CREEK HEADWATERS WETLAND AND GREENWAY
Construct Little Walnut Creek Headwaters Wetland and Greenway including all labor,
materials and equipment necessary for approximately 45,000 CY of excavation and
spreading for the construction of forebays, wetland pool areas and earthen embankments,
a concrete weir outlet structure, storm sewer, erosion control, surface restoration and
miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup.

In accordance with Iowa Code Sections 21.4(1)(b) and 21.8, this meeting of the Waukee City
Council will be conducted with two different options for public participation: 1) Members of the
public wishing to attend in person may do so in the Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall. 2)

In-person meetings are subject to change under certain circumstances, including but not
