AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the temporary
closing of certain portions of public streets on Saturday, May 9, 2026,
from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the Waukee Spring Market event
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The temporary street closings are to
accommodate an event in and around Triangle Park.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Iowa Code §364.12(2)(a) states that public ways and
grounds may be temporarily closed by resolution.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2026-
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PUBLIC
STREETS ON SATURDAY, MAY 9, 2026, FROM 9:30 A.M. TO 6:00 P.M. FOR THE
WAUKEE SPRING MARKET EVENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, organizers request the temporary closing of certain portions of public streets for
their Waukee Spring Market event; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of April, 2026, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of the following streets on
Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the Waukee Spring Market event:
6th Street from Ashworth Drive to a point approximately 320 feet to the south
Walnut Street from 6th Street to a point approximately 125 feet to the west
Walnut Street from 6th Street to a point approximately 150 feet to the east
