AGENDA ITEM: Consideration of approval of a Motion to set a Public Hearing Date of
July 6, 2026, as the date of public hearing on an ordinance to amend
Chapter 169, Zoning Ordinance, City of Waukee, Iowa, by rezoning
certain property K-MF-SM [Kettlestone Multi-Family Stacked Medium
District] to K-MF-SM/PD-1 [Kettlestone Multi-Family Stacked Medium
District with a Planned Development Overlay] (The Wren)
FORMAT: Motion
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: Staff has received a request for rezoning of
approximately 5.78 acres of property. The property is generally located
east of Grand Prairie Parkway and north of Ashworth Road. The
applicant has requested a Planned Development Overlay to account for
unique aspects of the proposed development that would otherwise not be
permitted with the existing zoning of the property.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
COMMISSION/BOARD/COMMITTEE COMMENT:
STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Staff would recommend approval of the City Council
setting the public hearing date for July 6, 2026, to discuss this matter
further.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the motion.
