AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving FY2027 funding
pursuant to a Second Amended and Substituted 28E Agreement with
Waukee Area Christian Services, d/b/a WayPoint Resources
FORMAT:Consent Agenda
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The City has an existing 28E agreement outlining
certain obligations of the City and Waukee Area Christian Services, now
doing business as WayPoint Resources. A resolution to approve the
funding amount approved in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year
must now be considered.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS:$30,000.00

THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
RESOLUTION 2026-
APPROVING FY2027 FUNDING PURSUANT TO THE SECOND AMENDED AND
SUBSTITUTED 28E AGREEMENT WITH WAUKEE AREA CHRISTIAN SERVICES,
D/B/A WAYPOINT RESOURCES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, Waukee Area Christian Services, d/b/a WayPoint Resources, has a long history of
providing much needed social services in the community; AND,
WHEREAS, the Waukee City Council recognizes that WayPoint Resources has the established
infrastructure and resources in place, not otherwise available within the City, to provide aid to
qualifying low income Waukee residents; AND,
WHEREAS, the City has an existing Second Amended and Substituted 28E agreement with Waukee
Area Christian Services to provide assistance to qualifying low income residents within the city limits
access to a food pantry, health clinic, community garden, seasonal programs, and make available
trained and certified social workers and staff members, and essential clothing.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a contribution in the amount of $30,000.00 be made
to WayPoint Resources for fiscal year 2027 to be administered pursuant to the Second Amended and
Substituted 28E agreement with the Agency.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that payment shall be made upon receipt by the City of Waukee of
an invoice from WayPoint Resources for the amount designated herein and that the City shall pay the
Provider no sooner than July 1, 2026.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 6th day of July, 2026.
