STAFF REVIEW AND COMMENT: Genus Landscape Architects has reviewed the Spring Crest
Park Project and find that the work performed is in substantial accordance
with the plans and specifications, and that the final amount of the Contract is
$671,440.52.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.

RESOLUTION 2026-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE SPRING CREST PARK
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of January, 2025, the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Waukee,
Iowa, entered into a construction contract with Elder Corporation of Des Moines, IA, for the
construction of certain public improvements generally described as the Spring Crest Park; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has fully completed the construction of the public
improvements in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and plans and
specifications, as shown by the certificate of the Engineer filed with the Clerk on July 2, 2026:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE, STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1.That the report of the Engineer be and the same is hereby approved and adopted,
and the public improvements are hereby approved and accepted as having been fully completed in
accordance with the plans, specifications and form of contract and the total final construction cost
thereof is hereby determined to be $671,440.52, as shown in the report of the Engineer.

construction for Spring Crest Park as performed by Elder Corporation.
As Landscape Architects for the project, it is our professional opinion
that the work performed is in substantial accordance with the plans
and specifications, and that the final amount of the contract is Six
hundred seventy-one thousand four hundred forty dollars and fifty-two
cents [$671,440.52].
Genus also recommends acceptance of the project and release of
partial retainage in the amount of Four thousand two hundred sixty-
nine dollars and sixty cents [ $4,269.60 ], after 30 days if no claims have
