PROCLAMATION
HONORING TRAVIS BLACK AS
2025 WAUKEE CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee is strengthened by individuals whose leadership, generosity, and
commitment to service enrich the lives of others and contribute to the continued success of our
community; AND,
WHEREAS, Travis Black has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the people of Waukee
through his leadership, volunteerism, and steadfast support of community organizations, initiatives,
and events that enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages; AND,
WHEREAS, Travis has championed a culture of community engagement, inspiring meaningful
investments in education, workforce development, charitable causes, youth programs, first
responder recognition, and countless local partnerships that strengthen the fabric of Waukee;
AND,
WHEREAS, he has consistently answered the call to serve by supporting organizations and
initiatives that create opportunities for others, including efforts that advance student success,
celebrate educators, encourage community involvement, and provide resources to those in need;
AND,
WHEREAS, through his leadership, integrity, generosity, and genuine passion for the Waukee
community, Travis has exemplified the values that make Waukee a welcoming, connected, and
thriving place to live, work, and raise a family; AND,
WHEREAS, in recognition of these significant contributions and his lasting impact on the
community, Travis Black was selected as the Waukee Citizen of the Year 2025, an honor jointly
recognized through the longstanding partnership between the City of Waukee and the Waukee
Area Chamber of Commerce.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Courtney Clarke, Mayor of the City of Waukee, do hereby proclaim
that on this 20th day of July, 2026, the City of Waukee proudly recognizes and honors Travis Black
for his exceptional leadership, outstanding service, and enduring commitment to the Waukee
community as the 2025 Waukee Citizen of the Year.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto
subscribed my name and caused the Great Seal of the City
of Waukee to be affixed this July 20, 2026.
