APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH COMMUNICATIONS
WORKERS OF AMERICA (CWA), LOCAL #7102, AFL-CIO, REGARDING ADDITION
OF THE POSITION AND PLACEMENT ON THE WAGE MATRIX TO THE JULY 1,
2013 - JUNE 30, 2016 CONTRACT [PUBLIC EDUCATION & PREVENTION
COORDINATOR, GS-121
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, on May 23, 2016, the Waukee City Council approved a Collective Bargaining
Agreement with the Communications Workers of America (CWA), Local #7102, AFL-CIO, in
effect July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2021 (Resolution #16-219); AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee and representatives of CWA, Local #7102, have reviewed and
approve a Memorandum of Understanding for the current Collective Bargaining Agreement
related to the position addition of Public Education & Prevention Coordinator, and the placement
at grade GS-12 on the wage matrix of the bargaining unit; AND,
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding is attached hereto and by reference
incorporated herein; AND,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa on
this 23`d day of March, 2020, that the Memorandum of Understanding with Communications
Workers of America (CWA) regarding addition of the position Public Education & Prevention
Coordinator and placement on the wage matrix to the July 1, 2013 - June 30, 2016 Contract is
hereby approved. ,

'I his Memorandum of understanding (" Memo"i is entered into on this I I` day of March 2020, by and
between the City of Waukee, lowa ("City"') and the Communications Workers of America, Local 7102, AFL C10
("union").
WHEREAS, City and Union entered into a collective bargaining agreement for the period of July 1, 2016,
through June 30, 2021," (the "Contract" ); and
W11EIt1.IAS, the Contract governs certain conditions of employment for members of the Union who arc
employed by City; and
WHEREAS, this Memo adds a new position, Public Lducation A: Pre,ention Coordinator, to the wage matrix
at grade GS-12: and
H IS 'IHEREFORE AGREED, by and between City and Union, that Public Education & Prevention
Coordinator wilt be considered contained within the collcc:ive bargaining agreement for all purposes of rights under
the contract.
