RESOLUTION 2020-233
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NE OWL RIDGE LANE FROM NE
DOUGLAS PARKWAY NORTH TO NE WOLFPACK DRIVE ON SATURDAY, JULY 4,
2020, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 1:30 P.M. AND 7:30 P.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF A
NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY, PENDING ANY RESTRICTIONS ON LARGE
GATHERINGS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, resident Marci Shell requests the temporary closing of NE Owl Ridge Lane from
NE Douglas Parkway north to NE Wolfpack Drive on Saturday, July 4, 2020, between the hours
of 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of a neighborhood block party; AND,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Code of Iowa §364.12(2)(a), public ways and grounds may be
temporarily closed by resolution; AND,
WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 virus, the State of Iowa has imposed certain
temporary restrictions on public gatherings that may or may not be in effect as of the date of the
event;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
22nd day of June, 2020, that it hereby approves the temporary closing of NE Owl Ridge Lane
from NE Douglas Parkway north to NE Wolfpack Drive on Saturday, July 4, 2020, between the
hours of 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of a neighborhood block party, pending any
restrictions on large gatherings.
